Mt. Joy 2022 Tour Announcement – Orange Blood Tour Schedule
Mt. Joy is heading to a city near you on their Orange Blood tour, and you need tickets to see the indie-rock outfit. They’ll kick off the trek on June 16th in Isle of Palms, SC, with stops in dozens of major cities before the final show on November 5th in Austin, TX.
A five-month long Mt. Joy tour? Don’t mind if we do! It’s not exactly surprising, given that these road warriors have barely left the stage since they formed in 2016. They supported The Lumineers on tour back in March 2020, before the world shut down due to the pandemic, and soon announced a co-headlining trek alongside Trampled By Turtles. This time, the band will be supported on select dates by fellow indie darlings like Madison Cunningham, The Brook & The Bluff, Wilderado, and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.
Mt. Joy is still celebrating their sophomore album, 2020’s Rearrange Us, which hit the Billboard 200 and impressed critics everywhere. They’re also working on new material and released their latest single, “Lemon Tree,” in March 2022. With a psychedelic music video, luminous guitar riffs, and head-nodding beat guaranteed to make waves at a concert… the track is destined to be a crowd please on the Orange Blood tour.
“It’s about realizing that you can’t change the past, but if you can work on being a force of positive energy for others, you can be rewarded with the privilege of moving on,” vocalist Matt Quinn said in a statement. “I was drawn to that phenomenon when you’re thinking of someone you haven’t spoken to in a while, and that person texts you or reaches you in some physical way.”
“At my most spiritual, I think there’s something about our energy that connects us,” he continued. “When you lean into positive energy, you’re rewarded for generating happiness for those around you. ‘Lemon Tree’ is about the power of our connection via this force.” Mt. Joy has made plenty of connections on tour in the form of incredible fans and loving friends, and they’re just getting started!
