Morrissey 2023 Tour Announcement – 40 Years of Morrissey Tour Schedule
Morrissey is celebrating four decades of his famed indie pop-rock catalog! The iconic British singer will kick off his “40 Years of Morrissey Tour” on October 7th in Orlando, FL, making eight stops before concluding on the 15th in Nashville, TN. He’ll also host a brief New York City residency from October 21-25.
There aren’t enough words to describe the legacy of Stephen Patrick Morrissey. The uber-talented artist has reached cult status for not only his music but also his proud (and often controversial) opinions. And trust us; you’ll get plenty of both onstage at the upcoming Morrissey tour. From his time fronting The Smiths in the 1980s to his thirteen solo albums, we can’t wait to take a journey back in time to every era of Morrissey.
Sure, he hasn’t been a part of The Smiths for over thirty years, but the band will always have a special place in his heart. We wouldn’t be surprised to hear Morrissey sing old favorites like “How Soon Is Now?” and “Back to the Old House,” which helped to establish his music career in his 20s. He released four albums with the group before his solo debut, Viva Hate, in 1988. And the rest is history.
With his distinctive baritone voice and broody lyrics, Morrissey has released one dreamily dark hit after another over the decades. Remember “Suedhead,” “Everyday Is Like Sunday,” and “Why Don’t You Find Out For Yourself?” These singles are just the beginning of his extensive catalog, and we have no clue how he’ll cut down the setlist enough for these Morrissey concerts!
In addition to the classics about anti-establishment policies and the concept of isolation, in true Morrissey fashion, he also has some new tunes on the horizon. Morrissey was meant to release his fourteenth album, Bonfire of Teenagers, last year before his record label unexpectedly put it on hold. It’s a bummer, for sure. But the good news? He’s got more lined up and ready to perform.
Another Morrissey album, called Without Music The World Dies, is tentatively set for release later in 2023. And we wouldn’t be surprised if he played new songs off both of his latest albums! In addition to 2020’s, I Am Not a Dog on a Chain, of course, which was one of his feistiest projects yet.
Morrissey is a musical mastermind with prime showmanship and more indie pop-rock chart-toppers than he can count. And he can’t wait to celebrate these things with his biggest fans on the 40 Years of Morrissey tour. Get your tickets now for the following dates!
