Mallrat 2022 Tour Announcement – Butterfly Blue Tour Schedule
Mallrat is heading on tour in fall 2022, taking the Australian singer to 23 US cities. She’ll kick off this trek on September 22nd in Dover, DE, as a part of the Firefly Festival, and continue through October 28th in Harrisburg, PA.
The Butterfly Blue tour is named for Mallrat’s debut album, released in May 2022. Featuring singles like “Teeth,” “Your Love,” and “Surprise Me,” featuring Azealia Banks, the record is a culmination of hip-hop, electronica, and indie-pop that tell you precisely who Mallrat is. We’ve been getting to know her for years, in the form of her three EPs and hit songs like “Groceries” and “Charlie,” but Butterfly Blue marks a new era for the 23-year-old artist.
This year, she opened for fellow Gen Z artist Conan Gray on his 2022 UK shows and has graced plenty of festival stages in her native Australia. But this marks a new chapter for Mallrat, born Grace Shaw. She’s performing on a headlining Mallrat tour of her own, where the stages get significantly bigger, as does her fan base. Songs like “Better,” “UFO,” and “Nobody’s Home” will sound even better when amplified through the speakers of the Troubador in Los Angeles, CA, or House of Blues in Houston, TX!
She’s playing medium-sized venues but can easily be playing stadiums and arenas in the next couple of years. Just ask the many critics who showed love to Butterfly Blue. “Much of the Australian alt-pop artist’s debut screams potential hit,” NME wrote in their album review. “These compelling compositions are still perfect for bedrooms but could captivate festival stages, too.” Meanwhile, The Guardian calls the record a “confident, compelling and dreamy debut.” Mallrat is quickly becoming a Gen Z superstar compared to the likes of Conan Gray and Olivia Rodrigo, and she’s only going up in 2022!
