Machine Head 2023 Tour Announcement – Electric Happy Hour (Live) Tour Schedule
Machine Head is heading back on the road in the spring and summer of 2023, and you can’t get more metal than this! The heavy metal heroes will begin the “Electric Happy Hour tour” on May 15th in Ventura, CA, continuing through June 9th in Los Angeles, CA.
“It makes me super proud that we have stayed the path playing these intimate venues doing two-and-a-half to three hours ‘evening with’-style shows for the last eight years,” Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn said in a statement. “These shows are incredibly rewarding for us as musicians and to people who come out to just go nuts with us.” With performances scheduled at venues like the 1,500-capacity The Signal in Chattanooga, TN, and 1,100-seat The Majestic Theatre in Detroit, MI, he isn’t kidding about intimacy!
“Eight years ago, the idea was to provide our people with an experience no other metal band was/is doing right now, and somehow this crazy idea stuck!” Flynn continued. “Me personally… I’m getting really bored of going to see a band headline for one hour and five minutes. Or trudge 50 miles down to the amphitheater to pay $40 for parking and 15 bucks for beer to see a show. So being able to offer something unique in this day and age feels really good.”
He’s totally right, as it’s not every day that you see a set of hard rock heavyweights like Machine Head pull out their electric and acoustic guitars onstage for a stripped-down and subdued set. But that’s exactly what we love about it! There’s no telling what you’ll get at an “Electric Happy Hour” with the band, and that’s what makes it so much fun. Maybe you’ll get a few acoustic hits from their 1994 debut, Burn My Eyes, followed by some metal bangers from Machine Head’s tenth and latest album, 2022’s Of Kingdom and Crown.
Then again, you could also hear some cover songs from their metal favorites like Slayer and Metallica, or even new tracks that they’ve hinted are in the works! Machine Head is one of the busiest metal bands in the business, as when they’re not writing, they’re performing… and vice versa. Robb Flynn and his bandmates put on a divine and diverse show that ranges from slowed-down ballads to thrashing metal bangers. And you’ll hear both on the “Electric Happy Hour tour.” Get your Machine Head tickets now!
