Los Ángeles Azules are turning up the heat in 2026 with their “Cumbia Sin Fronteras Tour,” serving up a dance-worthy celebration across the country that you’ll never forget. Set to begin on February 12th in Indianapolis, IN, they’ll stop in Tampa, FL, Charlotte, NC, Laredo, TX, and more before finishing up on March 29th in Albuquerque, NM.
“Cumbia knows no borders! Los Ángeles Azules are returning to the United States in 2026 with our new tour #CumbiaSinFronteras,” the ensemble announced online. “A tour full of energy, dancing, and joy… See you very soon!” Indeed, the name of the 2026 Los Ángeles Azules tour translates to “without borders,” which has practically been their mantra for half a century now.
Originating in the Iztapalapa district of Mexico City in 1976, Los Ángeles Azules transformed from a local sonidero act into the global voice of modern cumbia. Their signature sound — accordion lines and synth textures merging with 1950s-70s cumbia roots and ’90s electronic flavor — made audiences get into the groove long before streaming stats were a thing.
Who can forget their 2018 Coachella appearance, which made history as one of the first traditional cumbia groups to play the festival? Even surrounded by hotshots like The Weekend, Beyonce, and Eminem, people still couldn’t help but stop and check out the Los Ángeles Azules…swaying their hips and singing along every step of the way in the Indio desert.
