Kings of Leon 2024 Tour Announcement – Can We Please Have Fun Tour Schedule
Kings of Leon is venturing into new territory with the “Can We Please Have Fun tour!” The 4x-GRAMMY-winners will put out their ninth album, Can We Please Have Fun, on May 10th, and can’t wait to celebrate. This Kings of Leon tour will kick off on August 14th in Austin, TX, continuing through October 5th in Bridgeport, CT.
“It was the most enjoyable record I’ve ever been a part of,” Kings of Leon singer Caleb Followill says of Can We Please Have Fun, which also marks the band’s Capitol Records debut. And the feeling is mutual for his brothers and bandmates, with drummer Nathan openly gushing about their musical transformation. “It’s like we allowed ourselves to be musically vulnerable,” he says, adding that “I love it when a rock band is not embarrassed to admit that every song doesn’t have to be on 11.”
You’ll see and hear what he’s talking about with the first single, “Mustang,” a gritty track with a thumping bass and plenty of nostalgic and new energy to boot. The music video depicts the band playing on a rooftop as they watch the world go by below them, and it’s not too far-fetched of a comparison to their meteoric rise to fame back in the 2000s. They defined the past two decades with alternative rock favorites like “Sex On Fire,” “Use Somebody,” and “Closer,” and they’ll always love these classics.
That being said, Kings of Leon has gotten older and wiser over the years. And as they settle into 2024 and celebrate not only 25 years as a band, but also a brand new album, they’ll show a side of themselves you’ve never seen before. They’re laid-back, but also more dedicated to their loyal fans than ever. They’ll play the same beloved tracks you know and love, but sprinkled with new songs that pay homage to their garage rock days. The growing pains will be the best thing about this particular Kings of Leon tour, and they can’t wait to welcome you into the “Can We Please Have Fun” era.
“When you have a band, there’s a bond like no other, and when you have family, you have a bond like no other,” Caleb says. “We have both of those things. I thought, if we put all our energy toward something, who is gonna stop us? Who can stop us except us?” It’s the truth! Are you prepared for the most epic Kings of Leon tour yet? The general sale will begin March 1 at 10AM local time!
