Vampire Weekend 2024 Tour Announcement – Only God Was Above Us Tour Schedule
Vampire Weekend is back and ready to bite with the “Only God Was Above Us tour!” The indie rock trio will support their upcoming fifth album beginning June 6th in Houston, TX, making 30+ stops through October 17th in Austin, TX.
Vampire Weekend, consisting of Ezra Koenig, Chris Baio, and Chris Tomson, understands that fans have eagerly anticipated their return to the music scene. And the wait is finally over with the “Only God Was Above Us” era!” Named for their new album, and first in five years, this project highlights the band’s evolution. It’s a bloody beautiful journey that begins with two new singles, “Capricorn” and “Gen-X Cops,” giving fans a taste of the exciting things to come.
Both music videos for these new singles feature lost footage from 1980s New York City, the very place where Vampire Weekend formed nearly two decades ago. Backed by their signature vintage art aesthetic, and a beloved sound that blends rock, pop, ska, and even world music, it’s the same group you know and love. Albeit, with an upgraded sense of maturity that only comes with a five-year hiatus and endless societal changes.
Along with these new songs, you can also expect to hear the classics that made them famous, such as “Campus,” “Unbelievers,” “Diane Young,” and “A-Punk!” Vampire Weekend has long been a name to look out for in the indie rock landscape. Their last album, Father of the Bride, not only topped charts but also won a GRAMMY for Best Alternative Album, solidifying their position as a major influence across several genres.
While Only God Was Above Us certainly has big shoes to fill, we expect nothing but the strongest comeback from Vampire Weekend. Backed by key players on this tour, including La Lom, Ra Ra Riot, Cults, and Phish’s Mike Gordon, among others, they’ll be in great hands as they deliver the shows of a lifetime.
