Jeff Beck 2022 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
Jeff Beck is heading back on the road, bringing a few rock legends with him! Joined by Ann Wilson of Heart and ZZ Top, the world-famous blues-rock guitarist will kick off on September 23rd in Del Valle, TX, and make 23 stops before concluding on November 12th in Reno, NV.
This Jeff Beck tour focuses primarily on 18, his 2022 collaborative album with actor Johnny Depp. The two men wrote original songs in addition to creating covers of songs by Marvin Gaye, The Beach Boys, The Velvet Underground, and more, and the record definitely lets you listen to Depp, and Beck like you never have before. It may be a bit too much to ask for Depp to walk onstage and sing on this Jeff Beck tour. He’s an A-list actor, after all… but we know that Beck will do justice to all versions and verses that make up the masterpiece that is 18.
Depp and Beck met back in 2016 and instantly hit it off. Depp has long been known to make friends with rock’s biggest names (Keith Richards, anyone?), and the opportunity for a joint album was just too good to resist. Their combined star power is unmatched and helped make one of the biggest rock albums of 2022, so it’s natural to wonder about the process. Did they ever not get along? Is there any chance of seeing these two perform together on the Jeff Beck tour? How did the song selection take place? Beck recently provided insight on the last question on his official website.
“We were going to call the album ‘Kitchen Sink’ because we threw everything in it,” Beck says, “The only game plan we had was to play songs we like and see where they took us.” Meanwhile, the result is “a wild roller coaster ride through different genres where hairpin juxtapositions deliver some of the album’s biggest thrills.” They’ve proven that they can dabble in every genre —with Beck channeling his love for blues, rock, and jazz since the 1960s and Depp serving as one of the best method answers in recent years. Therefore, it’s no surprise that every song they touched on 18 turned into catchy, classic rock gold.
In addition to 18, Beck will also play the countless other hits from his six-decade career. Often regarded as one of the most talented blues-rock guitarists of all time, both on his own and as a member of the Yardbirds, his legacy speaks for itself. He’s earned multiple Grammys and accolades, including an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and is often called the “guitarist’s guitarist.” Is there any greater compliment? It’s not every day that you come face to face with such a world-famous musician, and you should definitely make your move to get tickets to the Jeff Beck tour!
