Indigo Girls 2021 Tour Announcement – Look Long Tour Schedule
Indigo Girls are heading on the road this fall for a series of concert dates, supporting their 2020 album Look Long while also playing songs from their extensive catalog of folk-rock hits. You can see them in Saratoga, CA, on August 12th, along with stops in Medford, MA, Chattanooga, TN, Huntington, NY, and more before completing their 2021 performances in Charlotte, NC.
This will be the first Indigo Girls tour since releasing their sixteenth album, Look Long, in May 2020. Fans are excited to not only hear these songs live for the first time but witness the duo and longtime friends dive into their past experiences and sing profound lyrics that are larger than life – or, shall we say, the arena stage.
“We’re fallible creatures shaped by the physics of life,” Emily Saliers said in a statement. “We’re shaped by our past; what makes us who we are? And why?” This question is the basis for their latest album, and the folk-rock duo has plenty of material to back it up.
Over their 35-year career, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers have become icons in the music industry and beyond. Brandi Carlile told Rolling Stone that the Indigo Girls were “so deeply influential” in her life. At the same time, their status as a female power duo has inspired many other women in the music industry over the decades.
Ray and Saliers have an influence that goes beyond music, as well. Both women are lesbians who have done incredible things for the LGBTQ community, while they have also made a difference for the environment, minorities, and politics.
