Gov’t Mule 2024 Tour Announcement – 30 Years Strong Tour Schedule
Gov’t Mule has a milestone trek coming up in 2024! The “30 Years Strong Tour” will be a celebration of the Southern rock group and all they’ve accomplished. They’ll kick off on February 8th in Vancouver, BC, making thirteen stops before wrapping up on February 25th in Houston, TX.
“Hard to believe it’s been 30 years and Gov’t Mule is playing with a newfound energy,” says Gov’t Mule frontman and guitar legend Warren Haynes. “Thanks, in part, to our new bass player, Kevin Scott, who is doing a fantastic job. It’s going to be fun delving into our past for this tour while creating new music at the same time.” Three decades, thirteen iconic albums, and endless hit songs later…you’ll be swept right into the Gov’t Mule universe on this epic anniversary trek.
2023 has already been an insane year for Haynes and his bandmates. They finished the “The Dark Side of The Mule Tour” (a tribute to Pink Floyd’s #1 album) in August, and released their thirteenth album, Peace…Like a River, over the summer! New songs like “Shake Our Way Out,” “Your Only Friend,” “After the Storm,” and “Just Across The River” encompass the band’s Southern charm you know and love. With a few surprises, of course.
How so? Louder Sound not only gave the record a four-star review, but also claimed that “the guitar riff on the opening ‘Same as It Ever Was’ is perhaps the most melodic that Warren Haynes has come up with”. And for a guitar god like him, it’s the ultimate compliment nearly a half century into Haynes’ career! Simply put, he’s still got “it,” and so does the rest of Gov’t Mule. Add in the special limited-edition vinyl EP, Time Of The Sign, due out next month, and it’s clear that the band has plenty of things happening in 2024.
“This EP, aptly titled Time Of The Signs, is made up of four additional songs that were written and recorded during the sessions for Peace…Like A River,” says Haynes. “But these four songs seemed to belong together in the same way that the original 12 on the album belong together, so we decided to make a companion piece. The EP also includes a different version of ‘The River Only Flows One Way,’ which could have gone either way (no pun intended).”
