Goose 2022 Tour Announcement – Dripfield Tour Schedule
Goose is going on the “Dripfield tour” in the late summer and fall 2022! Catch the progressive rock band beginning August 12th in Columbia, MD, with stops in Denver, CO, Portland, OR, New Orleans, LA, and more before concluding on October 15th in Dallas, TX.
This Goose tour is named for their third studio album, released in June 2022. Until now, they’ve mainly been known for their euphoric live shows, with Rolling Stone even
referring to them as “the most talked about jam band in the country right now.” However, this record proves they’re just as animated in the studio as they are on the stage. Songs like “Borne,” “Hot Tea,” “The Whales,” and the titular track show another side of the quintet that calls themselves an “indie groove” band. They feature Goose’s signature progressive rock and psychedelic funk beats with even catchier choruses that sound incredible both onstage and through your AirPods!
“When you get in the studio, you have the cans on, you’re looking around and hearing everything exactly how you want it — there’s this feeling,” drummer Ben Atkind told Rolling Stone about their appreciation for the studio while recording Dripfield. “It’s a rush, and it’s exciting because everyone’s focused on the one thing, the music, that’s all that matters in this moment. It’s not about the crowd and people dancing,” he says, “And everyone knows that, if we let ourselves get into the right headspace, we can make some magic.”
Lead guitarist and songwriter Rick Mitarotonda seconded this statement in the same interview. “There have always been two sides,” he says, “When I think back to the beginning of the band, I think about two things: I think about us tracking 2016’s Moon Cabin and finding out how we play together in the studio — that’s where we really started to establish that language together.” He concluded, “And then there’s the other side where we were playing bar gigs. That’s where we got our legs. You really feel people’s energy when they’re right in front of you.”
Indeed, Goose concerts will always have a special place in their hearts. In 2022 alone, they’ve sold out major venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, CO, and NYC’s Radio City Music Hall for the very first time. They’re simply trying to find a balance between recorded and live tunes, and fans are okay with that.
