Gogol Bordello 2022 Tour Announcement – SOLIDARITINE Tour Schedule
Gogol Bordello is continuing the “SOLIDARITINE tour” in fall 2022, supporting both frontman Eugene Hütz’s home of Ukraine and their upcoming album of the same name. The trek will begin on October 20th in Pittsburgh, PA, continuing through November 14th in Seattle, WA.
This Gogol Bordello tour began in spring 2022 when the group announced that they were going on tour to spread the message of freedom for Ukraine. The Gypsy punk rock band raised plenty of funds and provided relief for their country, resulting in a series of mega-fulfilling shows for both the artists and their fans. However, they didn’t feel like they were quite finished yet. While they wrapped the first leg of the Gogol Bordello tour in May, they only recently announced their all-new album and plans to return to the road in fall 2022.
“We just want to give the world a timeless album with messages of human potential and power,” Hütz said about their eighth album, set for release on September 19th. “Take a group of people who have endured immigrant traumas and dislocation. They create music, get successful together, become more baroque and experimental, and experience some years of relative calm.” Indeed, the band has become a household name for punk rock fans since its formation in New York City in 1999. However, the past few years have been hard on us all, and even the country’s biggest rock stars aren’t exempt from heartache.
“All of a sudden, humankind encounters these problems like the pandemic and the war,” Hütz continued. “This is when rock ‘n’ roll is the most necessary and where we perform the best. The album is really about uniting the people of goodwill. Releasing any kind of art that doesn’t address the situation in Ukraine right now would be pretty despicable.” Recently-released singles include “Forces of Victory” and “Focus Coin,” both of which present a powerful message in the form of punk rock. It’s not always easy to focus on your everyday life when tragedy is happening all around you, and they’re showing support for both Ukraine and their US fans with this Gogol Bordello tour and album.
