Goo Goo Dolls 2022 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule

Goo Goo Dolls are making their way to a city near you in summer 2022, and it’s a great time to see the beloved rock band. They’ll kick off the trek on June 23rd in Del Mar, CA, and continue through September 24th in Buffalo, NY.

“I’m just excited because I always have fun with our audience, and it’s always a good time,” Goo Goo Dolls co-founder John Rzeznik said last summer. “After doing this for so long, you start to recognize some of the faces. They become like this extended family, and it’d be nice to see everybody again.” While the group held a handful of virtual shows during the pandemic (more on that later), they missed the thrill of in-person performances that they’d enjoyed for 35 years. Therefore, they planned their next Goo Goo Dolls tour as soon as it was safe to do so, and fans lined up to get tickets for Rzeznik and his bandmate Robby Takac. 

Whether you’re a lifelong fan or only know the band for their most famous song, “Iris,” this Goo Goo Dolls tour is a must-see for summer 2022. They’ve released rock hits since the late 1980s that span from punk rock in their early years to alternative and post-grunge essentials and continue to surprise us with their distinctive artistry after nearly four decades. 

Their most recent eyebrow-raising (in the best way) project? A 2020 holiday album called It’s Christmas All Over, which they recorded to bring joy back into the hearts of rock fans. And believe it or not, this wasn’t the first time Goo Goo Dolls provided a bit of pandemic relief. They were one of the first groups to hold a virtual concert and brought an incredible setlist and special effects that put viewers onstage with them. 

It was “the first virtual XR live concert globally with a fully immersive LED Stage Set powered by the Unreal Engine, the graphics software developed for high-end video games.” Fans got up close and personal at a Goo Goo Dolls concert right from the comfort of their couch. And while plenty of bands played virtual shows, they were usually happening in an empty studio… not a full-fledged stage with all the glitz and glam that a rock band can buy. They played classic songs like “Indestructible,” “Slide,” “Dizzy,” “Black Balloon,” and more, all of which will likely be heard at upcoming Goo Goo Dolls concerts.
