G)I-DLE 2022 Tour Announcement – Just Me Tour Schedule
G)I-DLE is taking their show on the road in summer 2022, with the K-pop quintet visiting eight major cities. They’ll kick off the trek on July 22nd in Los Angeles, CA, and make stops in Seattle, WA, Dallas, TX, Chicago, IL, and more before wrapping up on August 7th in Atlanta, GA.
Dubbed the “‘Just Me ( )I-DLE’ tour,” this trek has been a long time coming for the Korean girl group. In the past several years, they’ve dealt with pandemic stress, a yearlong musical hiatus, the departure of founding member Soojin and so much more. It took resilience to create their March 2022 album, I Never Die, and get back on the road… but G)I-DLE is set on putting on their most spectacular shows yet.
“I don’t think we have as much energy during our online performances compared to when we were able to see the faces and hear the sounds of our NEVERLAND [their official fanbase],” member Shuhua told NME in April 2022. “I want to see them soon.” It was challenging to perform together as G)I-DLE split up and quarantined in different parts of the world. However, they knew they would eventually reunite amidst a tumultuous year. The result was I Never Die, a killer K-pop album that fans and critics can’t stop talking about.
I Never Die is their very first full-length record since forming in 2018, and the writing process was complicated, to say the least. It was the first time writing as a quintet instead of a sextet due to Soojin’s departure, and lead member Soyeon took a step back to give the other girls their moment. “I think this album is different from our previous work in the sense that it contains many songs done by our members themselves,” Shuhua says. “We worked so hard preparing to show people the best version of ourselves.”
Songs like “MY BAG,” “POLAROID,” and “VILLAIN DIES” represent G)I-DLE in their peak era. And they show no signs of slowing down. You can see the famed K-pop girl group all across the country this summer, with tickets available now for the following dates!
