Gipsy Kings 2023 Tour Announcement – Renaissance Tour Schedule
Gipsy Kings are heading on the “Renaissance tour” in spring 2023, taking the French musicians to 11 US cities. They’ll begin on April 14th in Denver, CO, making stops in San Diego, CA, Seattle, WA, Newark, NJ, and more before wrapping up on May 7th in Orlando, FL.
“The impact that the music of the Gipsy Kings had on the world is incalculable,” says Nelson Albareda, music producer and CEO of Loud and Live, who is helping to launch these shows. “Their Bamboleo is part of our collective DNA. This tour is very aptly titled since it will be a rebirth for this magnificent group.” What signals a rebirth, you may wonder? The group just released Renaissance, their fourteenth record and first in a decade, which is described as “an album full of gypsy passion and tradition drawn from true gypsy life.”
Isn’t that what they’ve been all about since the 1980s? Yes, but this new album heightens the gypsy lifestyle in a surreal way. It features the same rumba flamenca beats that Gipsy Kings have made their signature sound, but with a few twists and turns that only comes with a decade-long hiatus and a global pandemic in between.
