Gary Numan 2022 Tour Announcement – Intruder Tour Schedule

Gary Numan is finally ready to embark on his North American tour, and the first date is mere months away! You can see the British singer on February 23, 2022, in Los Angeles, CA, with performances continuing through April 3rd in Santa Cruz, CA.

Named the “Intruder tour” after Numan’s 19th album, released in May 2021, the singer initially meant this trek to begin in September before being postponed due to the pandemic. Numan gave attendees a heartfelt statement, encouraging them to “hang on to their tickets” and guaranteeing a glorious trek in the new year. This promise certainly makes sense, as you can always expect an incredible show from the godfather of electronica.

Numan has developed a cult following over his four-decade career for a multitude of reasons. There’s his synth-pop and electronica beats, like “Cars” and “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?”, that made waves in the late 1970s and helped set the groundwork for all of today’s synth-pop and EDM artists. “Intruder has climate change in its reason for being. Savage [his 2017 album] looked at the human condition,” Numan told Rock Cellar about his latest record. “My science fiction fantasy was about 100 years from the time of the great apocalypse. What would humanity become? How brutal and savage would it need to be to survive in such a hostile place where resources are scarce, and people are desperate? But it has climate change as its core, obviously.”

Important subject matter aside, you’ll still find plenty of synth-pop melodies and catchy hooks on this Gary Numan album.
