Gary Lee Clark Jr. has announced a fall 2022 tour, taking the blues guitarist from coast to coast for one month. He’ll kick off on September 9th in Birmingham, AL, and make stops in Queens, NY, Milwaukee, WI, Reno, NV, and more before concluding on October 9th in Wheatland, CA.
We may have just referred to Clark Jr. as a blues guitarist, and he is. One of the best in the business, in fact. However, he’s also so much more than that. The Grammy winner is known for infusing elements of hip-hop into his blues, rock, and soul hits to produce a musical fusion you’ve never heard before. He’s won awards in categories ranging from rock and R&B to traditional blues and shared the stage with iconic artists like Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. He’s released three studio major albums, the latest being 2019’s This Land, which have received critical acclaim from all types of music fans. While it’s unclear whether the 38-year-old artist will release another record anytime soon, he’s kept plenty busy in 2022. He’s playing festival stages, including Sea. Hear. Now and Sound on Sound, and even played alongside Bruce Springsteen this past spring for a cover of the Beatles’ “Come Together” in honor of their mutual friend Jon Stewart.
