Ed Sheeran 2023 Tour Announcement – Mathematics Tour Schedule
Ed Sheeran is finally heading to North America on the Mathematics tour, and fans are ecstatic! The English hitmaker will kick off on May 6th, 2023, in Arlington, TX, with stops in Philadelphia, PA, Toronto, ON, Denver, CO, and more before concluding on September 23rd in Los Angeles, CA.
It’s been a good while since a full-length Ed Sheeran tour came to the US, and you can bet that fans are lining up for tickets! He’s still supporting his fifth studio album, 2021’s =, which follows the mathematical theme of his albums (hence the 2023 Ed Sheeran tour title) and includes singles like “Bad Habits,” “Shivers,” and “Overpass Graffiti.” While his sweet lyrics and soft-folk legacy are still intact on his latest record, the choruses are noticeably stronger and more suited for arena rock. Does this mark a new chapter for the famously mellow hitmaker? It appears so, and we can’t wait to hear his new songs amplified in Los Angeles’ 70,000-seat SoFi Stadium.
Don’t get us wrong; he’s still the sweet crooner who won us over with “Shape of You,” “Perfect,” and “Thinking Out Loud” all through the 2010s, but the new Ed Sheeran seems hugely proud of what he calls his “coming-of-age record.” Since his debut album, 2011’s +, he’s gone from a rising star known primarily as a friend of Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber to a musical powerhouse in his own right. He’s won Grammy awards, sold 150 million records, and earned MBE status for his music and pop culture contributions. In short, Ed Sheeran is a huge deal, and it’s showing on stage. Even music publications noticed the shift in style for Sheeran, with Rolling Stone stating that he’s “ditched folk-pop for songs with choruses meant to incite cell-phone-lit sing-alongs in stadiums.”
“Equals is a really personal record and one that means a lot to me,” Sheeran said in a statement. “My life changed greatly over the past few years — I got married, became a father, experienced loss, and I reflect on these topics throughout the album. I see it as my coming-of-age record, and I can’t wait to share this next chapter with you.” Fans have loved the next chapter as much as Sheeran has and patiently waited for him to cross the pond and play to his US fans. The good news is that time is finally here, and you can’t miss your chance to be up close and personal with one of the world’s best-selling artists. Get your Ed Sheeran tickets today!
