Daughtry 2023 Tour Announcement – Bare Bones Tour Schedule
Daughtry is stripping things down on the “Bare Bones Tour,” an acoustic expedition nationwide. The rock band will begin on June 21st in Niagara Falls, ON, continuing through September 29th in Minot, ND.
Anybody familiar with Daughtry’s work knows that they can put on the ultimate rock concert. From 2000s hits like “It’s Not Over” and “September” to modern essentials like “Heavy Is the Crown,” the setlist is guaranteed to provide a night of fist-pumping and foot-tapping. However, things will sound a bit different on the Bare Bones tour. Chris Daughtry and his bandmates are giving their catalog an acoustic makeover, and we can’t wait to hear his trademark vocals in a more subtle and sultry style.
Daughtry is synonymous with his big, booming belts and vast vocal range that rivals even that of fellow American Idol alum Adam Lambert. But he’s decided it’s time to take things down a notch in 2023, and we’re just fine with that. Which tracks from their sixth and latest album, 2021’s Dearly Beloved, are you hoping to sway along to an acoustic version of? For us, it’s “World on Fire,” “The Victim,” and more.
Add in Daughtry’s older favorites like “Over You,” “What About Now,” and “Life After You,” and it’s going to be a heartwarming night of singalongs and epic, slowed-down rock songs. You see, the past couple of years have been nothing short of heartbreaking for Daughtry. In late 2021, he dealt with the tragic losses of his mother and stepdaughter within a week of each other. He postponed his post-pandemic Daughtry tour several times to take the time to heal and is still reeling from these tragedies.
“I’m feeling good. I’ve cried more in the last two months than I have in my entire life, and it’s becoming difficult to stay hydrated,” Chris Daughtry said in a radio interview. “And I say that because it was healing, it was great that I took the time off and spent away from everything — social media… I just needed that break. There was a time when I just felt like there was no way I could perform. I don’t feel like I can be in front of people.”
“Now, I’m at a point where I feel like I can be in front of people,” he continued. “I feel like I’ve dealt with — it’s never gonna go away, obviously — but I feel like I took the time needed to really process and deal with it in private and not feel like I have to put on a face for people. Now I’m okay with talking about it.” One can never fully recover from such devastation, but Daughtry finds hope and healing in the power of music.
He can’t wait to share the stripped-down renditions of his favorite songs from the past two decades, and hopes you’ll be there too! Get your Daughtry tickets today for the following dates.
