Danzig 2023 Tour Announcement – 35th Anniversary Tour Schedule
Danzig is embarking on the “Mother” of all treks! Glenn Danzig and his band are celebrating 35 years of their self-titled debut album. And it’s a seriously big deal. The heavy metal heroes will begin on August 25th in Las Vegas, NV, making over a dozen stops before wrapping up on September 17th in Chicago, IL.
Fans were pleasantly surprised to hear about these Danzig anniversary shows, as the band’s namesake just said last year that he could be done with touring for good! On the one hand, we don’t blame him. The 67-year-old has been making music for nearly half a century, after all, founding iconic rock groups like Misfits, Samhain, and Danzig. When he wasn’t writing hit songs for Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison, that is.
But we’re eternally grateful that he’s not ready to hang up his microphone just yet. Who else can’t wait to hear Glenn Danzig’s trademark baritone-meets-tenor vocal range at our local venue? Danzig was a turning point for the rock legend, and we’re referring to both the band and the record. The project produced what’s arguably the band’s biggest hit, “Mother.” Additionally, the group gave Glenn Danzig an outlet to temporarily halt his horror-filled lyrics in favor of doom-filled but dreamy crooning.

At the time of Danzig’s formation, the frontman had already been known for the last decade as the founder of Misfits. You know, the punk rock pioneers who practically founded the horror-meets-rock concept and inspired everybody from Metallica and Guns N’ Roses to Korn. Don’t get us wrong; he adores his status as the Misfit’s leader. And to this day, he still plays with them on occasion. However, he’s also dedicated to giving Danzig the love and appreciation it deserves.

You can expect to hear all your favorite Danzig hits at their upcoming trek, including not only “Mother” but also “She Rides,” “Twist of Cain,” and “Her Black Wings!” While we imagine this tour will mostly focus on their debut album, they could also sneak in a few more modern tracks from all twelve Danzig albums. These include their last record of all-new material, 2017’s Black Laden Crown, plus 2020’s Danzig Sings Elvis, which consists entirely of Elvis Presley covers.
We’re not entirely sure what to expect on the 35th anniversary Danzig tour, but one thing is for sure… you don’t want to miss these shows. They’ve been very clear that these are the only Danzig concerts scheduled for the foreseeable future, and now is the time to see the gothic heavy metal crooners!
