City and Colour 2023 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
City and Colour have announced a new set of tour dates! The side project of Canadian vocalist Dallas Green will kick off on May 3rd in Grand Rapids, MI, making stops in Minneapolis, MN, Chicago, IL, Boston, MA, and more before concluding on the 21st in Ithaca, NY.
This trek supports his soon-to-be-released seventh album, The Love Still Held Me Near, which fans can listen to in full on March 31st. With new singles like “Underground,” these stripped-down folk songs are a far cry from the post-hardcore hits he’s released with his other band, Alexisonfire… but that’s exactly what makes them special. Dallas Green is a musical prodigy that can scream out a post-hardcore chorus in one second before switching to an acoustic affair the next, and you’ll see it firsthand on the City and Colour tour.
Green has been releasing music under the name City and Colour since the mid-2000s, all the way back when fans still had to download them off MySpace! What began as a few slowed-down singles became his first album, 2005’s Sometimes, which was described by one critic as “dynamically gentle and vulnerable.” It was an eyebrow-raising moment for fans of Alexisonfire, whom Green joined in 2001 and has continued to thrash alongside to this very day. He even helped them put out their fifth album, 2022’s Otherness, thirteen years after their previous project!
Even with his devotion to Alexisonfire, Green still had time to build one of the most promising records of City and Colour’s career. It’s been three long years since his side project came out with an album, and a lot has happened, so you can expect to hear him sing about love, loss, intimacy, anxiety and everything in between.
