Nickel Creek 2023 Tour Announcement – Reunion Tour Schedule
Nickel Creek is returning to the stage for the first time in years! The legendary bluegrass trio will kick off on April 15th in Cincinnati, OH, continuing through June 13th in Kansas City, MO.
The band recently announced the first Nickel Creek tour since 2014, and needless to say, fans had a lot of thoughts about it. Some cities sold out in under ten minutes, with reservations still available on TicketSales.com, while others left comments like “So happy to have y’all back again! We can’t wait to welcome you to our stages!” They’re hitting up cities like Boston, MA, Nashville, TN, and St. Louis, MO, and we hope that more will be announced very soon.
Nickel Creek, composed of Chris Thile, Sara Watkins, and Sean Watkins, plan to pick up right where they left off nearly a decade ago. The setlist will be comprised of all their best bluegrass-country pop-folk hits, like “When You Come Back Down,” “Ode to a Butterfly,” and “Smoothie Song,” plus new favorites from their upcoming record. Celebrants is set for release on March 24th, and they’ve already put out the first single, “Strangers” to great feedback.
“It’s been too long, stranger/Guess even hard times fly/And leave us speechless in the darkness,” Sean Watkins sings as his sister Sara and Chris Thine back it up with impressive fiddle and mandolin harmonies. It’s a beautifully dark and ironic thing to say after not only a global pandemic but a nearly ten-year-hiatus, but it’s clear that Nickel Creek is back and better than ever. They’ve always had relatively long breaks between albums, like that of 2005’s Why Should the Fire Die? and 2014’s A Dotted Line, but they always return with a bang!
The Grammy-winning trio has taken the bluegrass world by storm since 1989, and you definitely haven’t heard the last of them. That being said, why wait to get your tickets to the first Nickel Creek tour in years? Shows are selling out fast, so reserve your seats for the following dates today….
