Chris Isaak is visiting a city near you on the “Everybody Knows It’s Christmas tour!” The country-rockabilly hero will kick off on December 3rd in Annapolis, MD, making stops in Clearwater, FL, Jacksonville, FL, Austin, TX, and more before concluding on the 22nd in San Antonio, TX.
Isaak is supporting his thirteenth album, which this tour is named after. Fans are excited to hear his first record in seven years, since 2015’s First Comes the Night, and it doesn’t hurt that it’s a seasonal record packed with all your favorite holiday hits! Isaak covers the classics like “Winter Wonderland,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” and more in his signature rockabilly twang, which sounds even better live than it does through your speakers.
“The holidays are such a special time for me, and the pandemic left us all so isolated. I felt like a holiday album was a great opportunity to bring people together this year,” Isaak said in a statement, “I had so much fun making this album and designing the cover.” “It was a joy to work with Dave Cobb and we worked in his iconic RCA studio where John Prine had placed a year-round Christmas tree to keep the holidays alive,” he continued, “ I loved that idea so I’m going to keep that spirit alive.”
With a career that spans nearly four decades, some may be surprised to hear that this is only Isaak’s second holiday album, coming after 2004’s chart-topping record, Christmas. He stated that the break between records wasn’t due to lack of interest but rather directly from his manager, who insisted that he continue the country music he’s known for. Don’t get us wrong, we love his songs like “Wicked Game,” “Blue Hotel,” and “Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing” as much as the next rockabilly fans, but who doesn’t love a seasonal celebration?
