Betty Who 2023 Tour Announcement – Big! Tour Schedule
Betty Who is bringing her latest hits to a city near you! Supporting her fourth album, Big!, the Australian pop star will kick off on February 28th in Phoenix, AZ, making stops in Houston, TX, Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, and more before concluding on April 1st in Los Angeles, CA.
“BEEN WAITING FOUR LONG YEARS TO SAY THIS: THE BIG! TOUR WILL BE COMING TO A CITY NEAR YOU IN 2023!,” Betty Who, born Jessica Newham, wrote on Instagram with a lineup of emojis. “Icons @sheacoulee @slayyyter & @nevemusic are joining me on select dates. CAN YOU F*CKING BELIEVE IT? We’re gonna leave it all out there for you.” Marking her first album in nearly four years, Big! Is living up to its name and starting a new chapter for the Australian songstress. She’s playing new songs like “She Can Dance,” “Blow Out My Candle,” and “Hey, It’s Betty” with a new lease on life, love, and lyricism, and she can’t wait to have you along for the ride.
“A huge theme of this record is coming to terms with who you are, and the hand life has dealt you,” Betty Who told Consequence in an October 2022 interview. It’s a fitting theme for her first post-pandemic album, which includes more personal fare than her previous work. The title is a tribute to her 6’1 frame that’s drawn attention throughout her career, and she sings on the titular track that she “won’t apologize for taking up space.” Another standout song is “Blow Out My Candle,” She explained that she carefully chose to be the album’s first single.
“‘BLOW OUT MY CANDLE’ is still one of my favorite songs on the whole record,” she said in the same interview from earlier, “It captures something that lives inside my soul.” “That battery that never runs out that is still standing ten years later,” she continued, “That’s why I wanted it to be the first single because it feels like a thesis statement for this record. You can’t hold me back, baby; I’m going where I wanna go, so get out of my way.” As for where she’s going now? Everywhere. This Betty Who tour takes the singer to all the major US cities, with a bigger (literally) and bolder setlist that works on her own terms. Will you be seeing her on stage?
