Alan Jackson 2022 Tour Announcement – Last Call: One More For the Road Tour Schedule
Alan Jackson is all set for his Last Call: One More For the Road tour, which will be one of the best farewell treks of the year. The country megastar will kick off performances on June 24th in Biloxi, MS, and make 16 stops in total before wrapping up on October 8th in Pittsburgh, PA.
“I’ve always admired my heroes like George Jones, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, and Charley Pride, who just played as much as they wanted to, as long as they could,” Jackson said in a statement. “I’ve always thought I’d like to do that, and I’d like to as long as my health will allow. I’ll try to do as much as I can, but if I’m comin’ your way, come see me.”
It’s a bittersweet statement from the 63-year-old neotraditional country artist. Over his nearly forty-year career, he’s been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and a list of the best-selling artists of all time with 75 million records sold worldwide. And while he hasn’t explicitly stated that it’s time for him to hang up his cowboy hat and guitar, there are a few hints in the Alan Jackson tour name and press statement.
He announced in 2021 that he had been diagnosed with a degenerative nerve disease called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disorder, which can affect balance and movement. Add in the fact that he’s been on the road for four decades, and, understandably, Alan Jackson may be ready to halt touring for the foreseeable future. Of course, this makes it even more of a rush to get your Alan Jackson tickets for 2022.
Jackson released his 21st album, Where Have You Gone, in 2021, which marked his first in six years. He’ll be playing these newer tracks on the Alan Jackson tour, along with neotraditional country classics like “Chattahoochee,” “Midnight in Montgomery,” and “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.” Alan Jackson is one of the greatest artists of our generation, and you can’t miss the chance to see him for possibly the last time on the Last Call: One More For the Road tour.
