Ben Folds 2023 Tour Announcement – What Matters Most Tour Schedule

Ben Folds is back and ready to perform across the US! The alternative pop-rock singer has announced the “What Matters Most tour” for 2023, beginning on March 24th in Claire, WI, and continuing for seven months before wrapping up on October 21st in Dallas, TX.

Folds is releasing his sixth solo album, What Matters Most, in June 2023, which also happens to be his first record in seven years! Featuring new songs like “Winslow Gardens,” “Back to Anonymous,” and “Fragile,” it’s a classic Ben Folds project that’s also unlike anything he’s done before. How are both of these things possible at the same time? Never doubt the power of Ben Folds, who has put out all types of instrumental-driven pop-rock hits since the 1980s. 

The 56-year-old Folds told American Songwriter that What Matters Most is his “truest” album to date, also sharing more juicy details about the writing and recording process. “I come from the vinyl era, and this, perhaps more than any record, I’ve made is a true album,” he says. “There’s a very specific sequence and arc to each side, all building up to this almost surreal positive finale, and that structure was really important to me.”

Known for being ultra-experimental with his music, performing with orchestras, a capella groups, and everything in between, you never quite know what to expect with a Ben Folds album. And we like it that way. He owned the scene for years with his band, Ben Folds Five, before going solo in the 2000s and releasing hits like “Still Fighting It,” “Family of Me,” and “Golden Slumbers.” While he’s taken a bit of a break over the past several years, we knew he’d be back and better than ever with his next Ben Folds tour and album, and the time is finally here!
