Twenty One Pilots 2022 Tour Announcements – Icy Tour Schedule
Twenty One Pilots is heading on the Icy Tour in 2022 in support of their sixth album, Scaled and Icy! The expedition begins on August 18th in St. Paul, MN, and goes on through September 24th in Seattle, WA.
Scaled and Icy was released in May 2021, an upbeat escape from the direness of the COVID-19 pandemic. Joseph stated in an interview that he wanted to “lean into being aware that things are scaled back and that we’re isolated,” while also passing on the idea that this wasn’t true at its core. Nobody should be feeling alone as long as they had the power of music and avid support, both of which were provided by Twenty One Pilots in a devastating year.
New songs like “Level of Concern,” “Shy Away,” and “Choker” are self-aware, blending situational lyrics with Twenty One Pilots’ classic alt-rock and electropop beats. However, it’s difficult to be sad when you simply can’t stop dancing, and that was the goal with this hopeful record. These songs helped fans worldwide being released, and just wait until you hear them live at a the Twenty One Pilots concert.
The alternative pop-rock duo – composed of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, have made it clear that they belong onstage. They made headlines in early 2021 with the Takeøver Tour, a series of shows in which they worked their way up from very small (think 500 people) to gigantic venues.
