Of course, everything changes when he lands in Iowa. He sticks to his scheme long enough to trick most of the Midwestern townspeople, except for librarian (and real musician) Marian Paroo. Things get complicated when they begin to fall for each other, and Harold begins to wonder if he can juggle his budding romance, fake career as a music teacher, and reluctant fondness for the boy’s band.
The musical features all your favorite tracks played in off-Broadway productions and beyond, including “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “Ya Got Trouble,” and “Gary, Indiana.” Anybody who has seen Hugh Jackman in Les Miserables or The Greatest Showman knows he’s got pipes, and he’s bringing Harold to life in a way that’s hardly been seen before. You also have to give kudos to Sutton Foster, whose flawless voice and Broadway credentials speak for themselves.
You may recognize her as Liza Miller on the hit TV show Younger, but she’s a Broaday leading lady through and through – and this becomes apparent with her performance as Marian. She can sing, dance, joke, all through the night, and has undeniable chemistry with Hugh Jackman.
