Where to See Kamasi Washington in 2021

Kamasi Washington has two upcoming shows that you don’t want to miss, and you need to see the famed saxophonist before the end of 2021! The first takes place on October 21st in Washington, DC, while the next takes place in New York, NY, the following night. He’ll also be playing the Desert Daze Festival in Perris, CA, this November.

Washington returned to performing with a bang this summer after taking a year off due to the pandemic. He played with Earl Sweatshirt at Hollywood Bowl, one of the most famous venues in his hometown of Los Angeles, CA! While he’s not ready for a full-length tour just yet, his upcoming shows are a must-see for any fan of instrumentals. 

Kamasi Washington has impressed the City of Angels with his saxophone skills for over two decades, with no plans to stop. His discography spans over fifteen years, with his last release being the 2020 EP, Dinner Party. It’s described as the debut between a newly-formed supergroup, including Washington, Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin, and 9th Wonder. 

While the 2020 release date meant that the musician friends weren’t able to tour together right away, we’re holding out hope to see them together soon! Maybe at the upcoming Kamasi Washington concerts, perhaps? The veteran musicians all represent different genres, coming together to form a beautiful amalgamation of jazz, R&B, hip-hop, pop, and more. 

Washington represents the jazz portion, as his skills as a tenor saxophone has become legendary over the years. He’s played huge music festivals like Coachella and Bonnaroo, and let’s be real… only the elite get to play the Hollywood Bowl. Kamasi Washington has earned his place among the most talented Los Angeles natives in the music industry, and his mad saxophone skills will be amplified throughout the arena at his upcoming concerts.
