Where to See Goose in 2023
What’s good for the Goose is a slew of 2023 performances…and the gander (AKA, the fans) too! The Connecticut-based jam band will next play on September 17th in Milwaukee, WI. They’ll make twelve stops before ending on December 9th in Hampton, VA.
If you’ve been following their cross-country journey on the Goose Instagram page, you know the band has had a blast playing to packed crowds nightly. Peter Anspach and Co. continue to support their third full-length album, 2022’s Dripfield, along with a new EP, Autumn Crossing, from earlier this year! In true jam band form, nobody quite knows the setlist they’re getting in each city. But it’s safe to assume that you’ll experience a spectrum of both old and new psychedelic rock favorites.
The latest EP contains three back-to-back progressive rock bangers, called “Travelers I,” “Travelers II,” and “Elmeg The Wise.” Each song has its own personality and personalized sound, ranging from smooth harmony to super-loud guitars and drums. However, they still complement each other beautifully. These songs take listeners on an audio quest that captivates them from start to finish. And Goose has even stated was always the goal for one of their most profound projects yet.
“This is a meaningful one for me. It’s among a collection of material I wrote in the years prior to Goose forming,” says guitarist Rick Mitarotonda about Autumn Crossing. “This band is interesting to me in that way; it draws from many different times and places, and there’s a particular freedom to that. This one was a special time and place for me personally.” As we enter into the fall season, these Goose concerts will most certainly become a special time and place for fans. Especially with a major band milestone coming up.
Casual reminder: 2024 will mark ten years of Goose! The band has gone above and beyond over the past decade, delivering catchy tunes like “Slow Ready,” “Hot Tea,” “Turned Clouds,” and dozens more. Just last year, Rolling Stone referred to them as “the most talked about jam band in the country right now!” Goose is extremely grateful for the fans that have made this level of success possible.
