Billy Joel is back at the piano in 2023, stopping in six major cities! These include his long-standing residency at Madison Square Garden in New York City, where he’ll perform his milestone 150th (and final) show in July 2024. Joel will also perform in Boston, MA, Baltimore, MD, Minneapolis, MN, Phoenix, AZ, and Arlington, TX.
“I’m kinda flabbergasted that it did last as long as it did,” Joel said at a press conference where he announced the end of his Madison Square Garden residency. “My team tells me that we could continue to sell tickets, but 10 years, 150 shows — all right already!” The “Piano Man” himself is practically a symbol of New York City, having grown up and performed there for decades. He’ll never lose his passion for Madison Square Garden, where his greatest hits like “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” “Vienna,” “Honesty,” and of course, “Piano Man,” practically live. However, he’s also ready to move on to the next chapter of his career…whatever it is that holds.
With over 160 million records, multiple Grammy Awards, and honorable mentions in both the Songwriters and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, respectively, Billy Joel is already a living legend in every way. He managed to sell out 100+ shows at one of the country’s most famous venues, despite not having released an album in over 20 years! And with his New York City residency winding down, you can’t miss your chance to hear his greatest hits from every decade.
