Where to See Babyface in 2022
Four Babyface concerts are coming in fall 2022… have you gotten your tickets to see the R&B icon? These performances begin on August 13th in Mableton, GA, and make stops in Philadelphia, PA, and Honolulu, HI, before concluding on November 10th in Detroit, MI.
Babyface wrapped up the co-headlining “Full Circle tour” with Kem just a few months ago, in which the two singers wooed the crowd with love songs night after night. While he’s taking a break from performing in the second half of the year, there are still several Babyface concerts that you can attend. The R&B crooner has eight albums and more than three decades worth of hits for the setlist, and you’ll be serenaded each evening by the soulful voice of Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds.
His biggest songs include “Two Occasions,” “Every Time I Close My Eyes,” “No Stoppin’ Us,” and “I Care ‘bout You,” the last of which was made for the Soul Food film soundtrack. It’s been a while since Babyface released a studio album, with the last one being 2015’s Return of the Tender Lover. However, he’s openly discussed the recording process for his upcoming project and released a single, “Keeps On Fallin,” featuring Ella Mai this year.
“The album is called Girls’ Night Out, and it features a lot of today’s younger R&B female artists, including Queen Naija, Ari Lennox, Kehlani, and Doechii,” Babyface told Billboard in June 2022. “We wrote together along with other producers, talking about whatever it is they wanted to talk about. And while doing that, I found that there’s a clear difference in terms of how women write and what they sing about today.” He concluded, “There’s far more independence and confidence that wasn’t necessarily there years ago. That aspect has been great to see and fun to work with as well.”
It’s easy to see why Babyface has influenced the new generation of R&B hitmakers. He’s a twelve-time Grammy winner with 26 number-one hits as both a writer and producer. NME named him as number 22 on their list of the “50 Greatest Producers Ever,” calling him “one of the founding fathers of all the best bits of modern US R&B.” And funnily enough, this is just the beginning of his legacy. You can witness his astounding career unfold before your eyes at these Babyface concerts, with tickets available now!
