Waterparks 2024 Tour Announcement – Sneaking Out of Heaven Tour Schedule
Waterparks is destined to put on the most colorful trek of 2024! The pop-punk-meets-electropop band is heading on the “Sneaking Out Of Heaven Tour,” starting on February 26th in Seattle, WA. They’ll stop in 20+ cities before wrapping up on April 6th in Los Angeles, CA.
Named for the band’s latest single, complete with an ultra-vivid music video in Waterparks’ signature spectrum of color, they’re clearly cooking up some exciting things. Awsten Knight and his bandmates are taking a more experimental turn with their sound and aesthetic style, and fans are obsessed! In the few months since the release of their fifth album, Intellectual Property, Waterparks has become Gen Z’s favorite new rock band. And while they show appreciation for their fans every chance they get, they’re also hoping to reach even wider audiences with the latest Waterparks tour and album.
For instance, “Sneaking Out of Heaven” is rooted in glitchy electronics and confessional lyrics about Knight’s religious guilt. AKA, a lot deeper content than you may be used to from the pop-punk darlings. You know, the ones who rose to fame with songs like “Watch What Happens Next,” “Stupid For You,” “Lucky People,” and “Easy to Hate.” But with a fanbase as crazy devoted as Waterparks’, they can go in practically any musical direction they’d like! The band did just that with Intellectual Property, which they recently opened up about to Alternative Press.
“We grew up loving and still loving Blink-182, Green Day, Sum 41, and Good Charlotte, so it’s in our DNA to a degree,” Knight told the publication. “But I just don’t want that pop-punk label because it’s so synonymous with the past and what cynical dickheads or mega naysayers say is just for preteens and kids.” “However,” Knight concludes, “the biggest reason I didn’t want that label is that I know exactly what we are capable of and what our output is.” The result is Intellectual Property, a dance-worthy project composed of more hyperpop and electronic sounds than you’ll know what to do with.
While they’re still loyal to their rock roots, a Waterparks concert will have you standing up through every song and dancing in your seat. From newer songs like “Real Super Dark” and “Funeral Grey” (titles that oppose their vibrant disposition) to classics like “Turbulent,” they’ll take you on the ride of your life.
