Underoath 2024 Tour Announcement – They’re Only Chasing Safety 20th Anniversary Tour Schedule

Underoath is celebrating one of their most famous album, It’s Only Chasing Safety, with a 20th anniversary tour! The Metalcore quintet will kick off on September 18th in Norfolk, VA, continuing through December 15th in Saint Petersburg, FL.

“Twenty. Years. This is going to be like nothing we’ve ever done,” the band wrote on the Underoath Instagram page. “‘They’re Only Chasing Safety’ in full every night plus *another* set of songs voted on by each city. Every song from every album over the past 20 years will be on the table.” The impact of Underoath on the Metalcore scene is simply unmatched. How so? Because the band has consistently blurred the lines between what’s socially acceptable in the alternative crowd.

Did you know that Underoath could technically be considered a Christian band? These religious undertones –combined with their melodic screaming choruses, unabashedly emo identity, and outspoken public appearances – helped them stand out in the sea of early 2000s emo bands. And they’ve brought the same level of passion and intensity over the past two decades. Underoath has released nine albums in total, most recently 2022’s Voyeurist, and every last one of them is up for the taking on this anniversary tour.

It’s technically a celebration of They’re Only Chasing Safety, which produced hit singles like “Reinventing Your Exit,” “A Boy Brushed red Living in Black and White,” and “Down, Set, Go.” However, this is firstly a celebration of Underoath’s incredible career. They’ve served as the inspiration for many rock, emo, and metal bands after them…many of whom will be in the crowd cheering them on as both friends and fans.
