Tyler Childers 2023 Tour Announcement – Send in the Hounds Tour Schedule
Tyler Childers has announced the “Send in the Hounds tour” for 2023! Joined by supporting acts like Elle King, Charley Crockett, and Drive-By Truckers, these Tyler Childers concerts will kick off on April 14th in New Orleans, LA, and continue through September 28th in Morrison, CO.
This Tyler Childers tour supports the latest album by the country star, Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven? Fans and critics loved his fifth album when it was released in September 2022, getting a kick out of new songs like “Angel Band,” “Purgatory, “Jubilee,” and the titular track! Taking on a more gospel sound than his previous records packed with neotraditional country, bluegrass, and folk hits, Childers’ latest effort was a risky but oh-so-rewarding project for all involved.
As one could guess by the album name and gospel sound, this project also takes on spiritual themes that will make listeners feel right at home. “It’s processing through life experiences and the different philosophies and religions that I’ve taken in and have informed me on trying to make a comprehensive, sonic example of that,” Childers says. “Working with the same song in three different ways is a nod to my raising, growing up in a Free Will Baptist church that believes in the Holy Trinity… the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost… and what that means.”
“Message-wise, I hope that people take that it doesn’t matter race, creed, religion and all of that like,” the 31-year-old singer continued, “The most important part is to protect your heart, cultivate that and make that something useful for the world.” Even those who aren’t religious can relate to these songs, which are different from his previous top-charting singles but equally beautiful in their own way. You’ll still hear the classics, like “All You’n,” “Lady May,” and “Feathered Indians,” on this Tyler Childers tour… with new songs added in to signal a new era for the country artist.
