Trans-Siberian Orchestra 2021 Tour Announcement – Christmas Eve and Other Stories Tour Schedule
Trans-Siberian Orchestra continues its holiday tradition with the Christmas Eve and Other Stories tour, a seasonal rock opera that always puts you in the spirit! The first performance takes place on November 17th in Green Bay, WI, while the trek continues through December 30th in St. Louis, MO.
You’re likely familiar with the metal version of “Carol of the Bells” that you jam along to on the radio each year, but did you know that Trans-Siberian Orchestra plays it? The group is almost as synonymous with Christmas music as Mariah Carey, with a series of rock operas that put a metal spin on the most magical time of the year.
While they took a break in 2020 due to the pandemic, Trans-Siberian Orchestra is returning with the show that made them famous: Christmas Eve and Other Stories. Named for their 1996 debut album certified 3x platinum, this concert series delivers instrumental versions of your favorite holiday tunes. These include “The First Noel,” “Good King Joy,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” and many more.
Did Paul O’Neill plan on Trans-Siberian Orchestra becoming a Christmas staple when he formed the group in 1996? Given that he previously worked with icons like Aerosmith, AC/DC, Joan Jett, and more, it’s hard to say. But O’Neill combined his rock background with holiday tunes to produce the prog-metal version of “Carol of the Bells” that you know and love!
While he sadly passed away in 2017, the legacy of Paul O’Neill lives on. He helped produce nine multiplatinum Trans-Siberian Orchestra albums, along with gorgeous rock operas that incorporate all the fog machines, light shows, and laser beams that you could need. The remaining band members plan to carry on his legacy every Christmas with their glorious live performances, and now you have the chance to be front and center.
The Washington Post once referred to the group as “an arena-rock juggernaut” and described their music as “Pink Floyd meets Yes and The Who at Radio City Music Hall.” Believe it or not, this hardly even does justice to the magical, metal hits of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
