Train and REO Speedwagon 2024 Tour Announcement – Summer Road Trip Tour Schedule
Train and REO Speedwagon are teaming up for the “Summer Road Trip Tour!” The two groups will begin on July 8th in Somerset, WI, continuing through September 11th in Phoenix, AZ.
“When I was younger I heard a band called REO Speedwagon and fell in love with their numerous, infectious hit songs,” says Train singer Pat Monahan. “Years later I met Kevin Cronin, and thank goodness he’s as great a person as he is a songwriter. This tour won’t just be a great time with great people, but a tour that will have a ton of familiar songs to most generations. I will be wishing I was in the audience as much as I’ll love being on the stage.”
The feeling is mutual for their friends in REO Speedwagon, who issued their own statement about the upcoming trek. “Pat Monahan and I have done several benefit shows over the years, and now we get to take out our bands for a summer full of music and fun,” says frontman Cronin. “I love the idea of bringing together people of all ages, who share a common love for well-crafted songs and high energy live performances. The REO boys are stoked about this tour.”
Despite being from different generations, Train and REO Speedwagon have a great deal in common. Both are diamond-selling bands with an affinity for pop-rock chart-toppers, often with upbeat themes that make them perfect for, well, a summer road trip! Who hasn’t sung along to Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister,” “Drops of Jupiter,” or “Drive By” as the wind blows through their hair on the open road? These feel-good tracks have blown people’s minds for over three decades now. And they provide even more danceability and positive energy when played live.
As for REO Speedwagon? The Illinois-based band has been around for over forty years, bopping between poppy verses and arena rock to become one of the most diverse groups ever. With over 40 million albums sold and hits like “Keep On Loving You,” “Can’t Fight This Feeling,” and “Roll With The Changes” in their repertoire, people worldwide flock to see this top-tier act. They’ve had a blast performing with their friends in Styx over the past couple years, and continue to be a powerful live act despite not having released an album in over a decade.
And now, REO Speedwagon is ready to drive into a new way of touring with their friends in Train! The Summer Road Trip tour will be a pop-rock extravaganza unlike any other, and tickets are available starting Wednesday, January 31st!
