The Doobie Brothers 2021-2022 Concert Dates – 50th Anniversary Tour Schedule
The Doobie Brothers are ready to hit the road for their 50th Anniversary tour, celebrating half a century’s worth of classic rock hits with their biggest fans. The 49-show expedition begins on August 22nd in Des Moines, IA, continuing throughout the country through June 30, 2022, in Ontario.
There are plenty of reasons to celebrate The Doobie Brothers’ 50th Anniversary Tour. Not only does it mark the comeback of live music after the tour was postponed in 2020, but also the return of long-lost band members that haven’t been around since the ’80s. Yes, we’re talking about Michael McDonald.
While there have been collaborations over the years, such as guest appearances and a greatest hits album in 2014, McDonald has not been an official member of The Doobie Brothers in nearly forty years. He hasn’t toured with them since 1995! But McDonald couldn’t resist the chance to join them on stage for the 50th Anniversary Tour, playing hits like “What a Fool Believes,” “Minute by Minute,” and “Real Love.”
While the group known for their “yacht rock” hits and smooth vocal harmonies has undergone many member changes over the last fifty years, Michael McDonald remains one of the most famous. That’s why fans were thrilled when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside the Doobie Brothers in 2020, an honor that was a long time coming.
While The Doobie Brothers have toured continuously since the early 1990s, fans can expect more than a few surprises on the 50th Anniversary Tour. The captains of the yacht rock movement always provide soulful, vocally talented performances that all generations can enjoy… but will there be a surprise guest appearance?
