Tears For Fears 2022 Tour Announcement – The Tipping Point Tour Schedule
Tears for Fears are touring in 2022 in support of their seventh album – also their first in seventeen years! Catch the English pop-rock band, joined by Garbage, beginning May 20th in Cincinnati, OH, with concerts going on through June 25th in Wantagh, NY.
“We couldn’t be more excited to start playing concerts again. We’ve missed seeing our friends on the road around the world and the energy of performing live,” Tears for Fears’ member Curt Smith said in a statement. Despite the delay in releasing new music, he and bandmate Roland Orzabal have continued to tour intermittently throughout the years. The Tipping Point tour will be their first full-length trek since 2018.
What exactly inspired the two men, who have performed together in Tears for Fears since 1981, to make new music after all this time? A sad story that helped them create something beautiful. Orzabal’s wife Caroline tragically passed away in 2017, a “tipping point” that inspired the titular track. The song is dedicated to her memory, while the album is a bit of a love letter to supporters of Tears for Fears.
With this record, they had no desire to recreate the hits that made them famous, including “Shout”, “Head over Heels,” and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World.” Instead, the two 60-year-olds aspired to create a new sound – one that pays tribute to their teenage angst while also putting their growth on full display.
