Stephen Marley 2023 Tour Announcement – Babylon By Bus Tour Schedule
Did somebody say reggae? Stephen Marley is taking the stage this summer on the “Babylon By Bus tour,” and it will be a dance-worthy occasion for all attendees. He’ll kick off on June 24th in Del Mar, CA, continuing for several months before concluding on October 22nd in Atlanta, GA.
Let’s get this out of the way. When you’re the son of the biggest reggae star in the world, you have majorly big shoes to fill. Bob Marley’s famous Adidas, to be precise. However, his eldest son Stephen has more than made a legacy of his own. The eight-time Grammy winner has released one reggae hit after another over the decades, including “Hey Baby,” “Rock Stone,” and “Someone to Love.” There’s also his new single, “Old Soul,” which symbolizes the 51-year-old’s life and all that’s shaped it.
“April 1972, my mom and poppa brought me through,” Stephen sings in the inspiring new song. “Back then, I was the favorite, so they say.” “I’m an old soul, living in the body of a 9-year-old,” Stephen continues, sharing his past thoughts, “Guess I’ve been here before.” Age could easily be a sensitive topic for the reggae hero, given that his own father died at only 36. However, Stephen is embracing the aging process and singing about it too. And he can’t wait to play “Old Soul” on the road.
This track is a part of his upcoming solo record, which he’s dropped hints about while still remaining mum. It will be his first since 2016’s Revelation Pt 2. – The Fruit of Life, and he’s excited to drop some new tunes! “You have to be true to yourself,” Marley said in a recent interview about his musical style. “I refuse to be put into any category. I am inspired by everything. So, if I feel like I want to play some jazz music, I will play some jazz music. Who dig it, dig it.”
While reggae has been the key to his heart since he was born, Marley will never be afraid to have his jazz and eat it too. Or hip-hop, or pop, or anything else he feels like! We’re in a new era of Stephen Marley as he enters his 50s with confidence, and he can’t wait to play some music for you on the Babylon By Bus tour. Get your tickets now!
