St. Lucia 2022 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
St. Lucia is embarking on a fall 2022 tour that you can’t miss! On October 7th in Boston, MA, the electronic group kicks off and visits 28 cities before the last show on November 15th in Brooklyn, NY.
It’s been an excellent year for St. Lucia thus far. They released their first new music collection in four years, a six-song EP titled Utopia I, and are playing them for the first time in the country’s most intimate venues. Of course, don’t let the smaller size make you think there isn’t room to dance. You’ll be swaying, chanting, and dancing along to the best indie-electropop numbers from St. Lucia, including new tracks like “Separate World,” “The Golden Age,” and “Another Lifetime.”
Nettwerk describes the EP as “equal parts colorful disco, 70s funk, and 80s pop,” along with being a “luminous palette of synths.” It’s an accurate depiction, but Utopia I also has a dark side. South African husband-wife duo Jean-Philip Grobler and Patti Beranek drew from their own experiences while creating an escapist record unlike any other. You’ll feel strangely understood as you listen to the EP, unleashing your many emotions from post-pandemic life.
“In a way, this is my rebellion against the world’s darkness,” states Jean-Philip. “From the beginning, the name St. Lucia came from me making escapist music. In South Africa, there’s a place called St. Lucia, and it’s similar to the island in the Caribbean because it’s where you escape.” He continued saying, “It’s utopia. There are many ideas of utopia, whether it means virus-free or a virtual tech utopia. It’s easy to feel depressed these days, so I’m trying to bring something joyous to the world.”
“I was sick of seeing stuff on the Internet, and I just wanted to feel good,” the St. Lucia founder concluded. “That’s what being human is about. We have to feel alive, no matter what is happening around us.” His wife Patti backed up this sentiment, saying that Utopia I “unleashes things, and I think we did a good job capturing that.” We fully agree, and can’t wait to see all the emotions that are unleashed on the St. Lucia tour.
It’s been quite a long time since the last St. Lucia tour, and you don’t want to miss your chance to see the electropop-indie duo. Get your tickets today for the following dates!
