Simi has announced the “To Be Honest tour,” kicking off in fall 2022 and supporting her third album of the same. These Simi concerts begin on October 19th in Washington, DC, hitting major cities like New York, NY, Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX, and more before concluding on November 11th in Seattle, WA.
The Nigerian singer released her fifth album, To Be Honest, in June 2022. Featuring eleven new songs like “Born Again,” “Loyal,” and “Logba Logba,” it’s an autobiography of sorts that tells Simi’s story over the past several years. She dealt with a life-changing global pandemic, became a mother, and has reached some of her greatest career successes. In short, it was a year of beauty riddled with a few hurdles in the process. She’s grateful to have her longtime fans as a part of her journey and to finally get To Be Honest in your Spotify playlists where it belongs.
“I truly feel like a burden has been lifted off my back because I’ve been working on this album for three years!” Simi told Billboard in a summer 2022 interview. “I knew what I wanted the album to be about thematically, but I took a long time trying to figure out how I wanted it to sound. I had to A&R this project myself, so I’m very attached to the project.” “It was so exciting to get the project out there, especially after hearing feedback from my fans,” she continued, “I think the listeners saw what I was trying to do, but I really just wanted to prove a point and show my range as a creative.”
