Sharon Van Etten 2022 Tour Announcement – Wild Hearts Tour Schedule
Sharon Van Etten is heading on the Wild Hearts tour in summer 2022 alongside Angel Olsen and Julien Baker, taking place mostly in outdoor venues for guaranteed safety and good times. The trek begins July 21st in Vienna, VA, and hits 20 major cities before ending on August 21st in New York, NY.
“Our aim is to strengthen our respective communities and promote camaraderie in the music world in a safe and enjoyable environment,” Van Etten said in a statement. “We have carefully chosen the venues we think will deliver the best experience for us and our fans.” Featuring monumental music venues like the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, CA, and Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, we certainly agree with this sentiment about the 2022 Sharon Van Etten tour.
This indie-rock extravaganza has been a long time coming, as all three artists share major respect and memories. Van Etten and Olsen collaborated in 2021 with the single, “Like I Used To,” which Pitchfork described as a “momentous, predestined to be a crowd-pleasing set closer” from “two of the most influential songwriters of the past decade.” It’s a grand statement from one of the biggest music publications, and we can only assume that the two women will close out the 2022 Sharon Van Etten tour with this monumental song.
As for the other tracks on the setlist? Van Etten has 13 years of material and five albums to choose from, most recently being 2019’s Remind Me Tomorrow. The 40-year-old has also dropped hints about new music, and released the new single “Porta” in early 2022.
While the upbeat track has 80s synth-pop vibes and a vivacious music video to boot, Van Etten has actually stated that it was written in 2020 during one of her “lowest lows.” It’s a symbol of how she used forms of exercise and inner strength to treat the anxiety she experienced in the midst of the pandemic, which is something many can relate to. Now that she’s heading back onstage with her friends and fans, she can’t wait to uplift others with the power of music on this Sharon Van Etten tour.
