Sam Hunt 2024 Tour Announcement – Locked Up Tour Schedule

Sam Hunt is entering his “Locked Up” era with a new tour! Supported by Russell Dickerson, Dalton Dover, and George Birge, the country-pop favorite will begin on June 28th in Bend, OR, continuing through September 27th in Ottawa, ON.

Hunt caused quite the stir with his new four-song EP, Locked Up, which marks his first release since 2020’s Southside! Why is it such a big deal? Because Hunt famously never releases new music, having put out only two official albums (his debut album, Montevallo, turns ten this year!) and adopting a quality-over-quantity approach with singles. But such a joyous occasion calls for a few milestone moments, which includes this Sam Hunt tour and his recent performance at the CMT Awards.

With his guitar in hand, Hunt crooned through a soulful version of his new single, a powerful track that’s been subject to heated discussion since its release. With his recent legal troubles, and lyrics claiming that he was “in a young, dumb, rowdy phase,” it has to be an autobiographical track, right? Not exactly. Hunt recently opened up about the solid country hit, its emotional music video, and how it came to him at a tumultuous, yet crucial, time in his life.

“The song itself though, it’s not, you know, it may seem autobiographical if you connect the dots,” Hunt told Taste of Country Nights. “But, you know, I made a point not to go into the details in the song about my story. I tried to zoom it out and make it more relatable so that it feels more like it’s about making a big mistake or messing up, and having your significant other stick with you through that. And realizing through that how much she loves you and how much you love her, and how strong your bond is.”

Since Hunt is notoriously private about his personal life, his opening up to fans and the media like this is a rare glimpse into how his mind works. While he’s still the same guy who wrote your favorite carefree country songs, like “Body Like a Back Road,” “Make You Miss Me,” and “Break Up In A Small Town,” he’s quite a bit more vulnerable as he prepares to promote Locked Up. And these new songs, including “Country House,” “Last Hurrah,” and “Outskirts,” will help you see Sam Hunt in a new light.
