Queen and Adam Lambert 2023 Tour Announcement – The Rhapsody Tour Schedule
Queen and Adam Lambert have extended the “The Rhapsody Tour,” which will be one of the most spectacular rock shows of 2023! They’ll kick off on October 4th in Baltimore, MD, continuing through November 12th in Los Angeles, CA.
“I can’t wait to tour North America one more time with the Rhapsody tour alongside the two unbelievably talented legends that are Brian May and Roger Taylor,” Lambert gushed. May seconded his statement, hinting at even more upscaled special effects and sensational stage designs. “Our last tour featured our most ambitious production ever,” he says, “So we decided to rip it apart and get even more ambitious. Watch out, world.”
For those who don’t know, May and Taylor co-founded Queen in 1970 with late frontman Freddie Mercury, over a decade before Lambert was born! However, the three men have worked together since 2011 to create a modern and magical rock group. Lambert’s vocal style perfectly fits Queen’s greatest hits and pays tribute to Mercury without mimicking him, which he’s opened up about on more than one occasion.
“I’ve always been honored and understanding of the weight and legacy of the band,” Lambert told Rolling Stone several years back. “In the beginning, I was pretty intimidated by that. I tried not to let it show.” “Can I handle all this? Am I going to be able to do it justice? Is the audience going to accept me? Is the band going to accept me? Am I going to be a pain in the ass?” He concludes, “I’ve learned to finesse it a little bit more.”
Freddie Mercury is a musical icon who devastated the world when he passed away in 1991, but Lambert does him the utmost justice onstage every night. Queen’s greatest tracks are some of the most vocally demanding in the rock genre. Have you ever tried to belt out “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Don’t Stop Me Now,” and “We Will Rock You” back-to-back? Adam Lambert does it with ease, demonstrating the same charisma and hopelessly carefree energy of his predecessor while still making these iconic songs his own.
Queen has captured the hearts of millions for half a century. First with Mercury’s risk-taking choreography and unimaginable vocals, and later on with May, Taylor, and Lambert continuing his legacy. This is, first and foremost, a celebration of the iconic frontman, in addition to a love letter to Queen’s lifelong fans who hope to sing along to one of the greatest songbooks in rock history. Are you ready to scream “We Will Rock You” along with Lambert at the top of your lungs? Get your Queen tickets today.
