Pedro the Lion 2023 Tour Announcement – Anniversary Tour Schedule
Pedro the Lion is embarking on an anniversary tour unlike any other! Are you ready to hear their beloved albums, It’s Hard to Find a Find a Friend and Control, in their entirety? The indie rock band will kick off on April 11th in Omaha, NE, making dozens of stops before concluding on June 30th in Seattle, WA.
“Hello friends! We have some very big news today!,” the group, fronted by Dave Bazan, wrote on Instagram. “This year, 1998’s “It’s Hard to Find a Friend” and 2002’s “Control” turn 25 and 21 years old, respectively. To celebrate, Dave, along with guitar player Erik Walters and drummer Terence Ankeny, will play every song from each album on tour.” These songs include bangers like “The Longer I Lay Here,” “Promise,” “Rapture,” “Second Best” and many more! It’s been over two decades since Pedro the Lion impressed the indie rock scene with these masterful albums, and you can take a journey through the past and present with this anniversary trek.
The past several years have been focused on newness for Pedro the Lion fans, as they released their albums Phoenix in 2019 (the first full-length since 2004!) and Havasu in 2022. But we can’t forget where they came from, and the two early albums they’ll celebrate on this trek are proof. These songs feature the first-person narrative and controversial themes that the band has made their trademark, paving the way for years of political outcry and perfectly catchy verses. It’s not an easy combination to achieve in the music world, but Pedro the Lion has done it forever, and you’ll see it firsthand at these performances.
Whether you’re a longtime fan of Bazan and his bandmates who bought It’s Hard to Find a Friend and Control on their release days or just got into them in the past several years… you’ll have the best time at these Pedro the Lion concerts.
