Pearl Jam 2024 Tour Announcement – Dark Matter Tour Schedule
Pearl Jam have announced the “Dark Matter Tour” for later in 2024! Named for their upcoming twelfth album, this trek will take the grunge heroes to 35 cites. They’ll kick off these Pearl jam concerts on May 4th in Vancouver, BC, weaving through various countries within the year before wrapping up US dates on September 17th in Boston, MA.
The stakes are certainly high for Pearl Jam’s twelfth release, and first since 2020’s Gigaton. However, Eddie Vedder and Co. assure that they’ve met fans expectations and then some. “We’re still looking for ways to communicate,” the world-famous frontman said in a press release. “We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful and we hopefully think is our best work. No hyperbole, I think this is our best work.”
With eleven songs including the titular track, which has racked up nearly 300,000 YouTube views in less than 24 hours, Dark Matter is destined to take listeners through space and time. The first single alone is powered by descending guitar riffs, Vedder’s grungy growl, and introspective lyrics that somehow manage to be both profoundly simple and perfectly mind-blowing. When Eddie Vedder tells you to “denounce the demigods” and plays with his words on lines like “no patience left for impatience no more / no love lost for lost loves,” it’s impossible not to listen.
All five members have spent nearly half a decade perfecting this new batch of songs, including “Scared of Fear,” “Won’t Tell,” and “Waiting For Stevie,” and let’s just say that it’s a grand day to be a grunge fan. Pearl Jam has defined the genre for over three decades now with their unimaginable sound, prolific activism, surreal live performances, and redefining of the rock star life. All of which has helped them sell over 85 million albums and earn a much-deserved spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, among countless other musical accolades.
And now, all of these things will come together in one grunge-god-approved, life-changing package on the Pearl Jam tour. Joined by special guests like Deep Sea Diver, Glen Hansard, Richard Ashcroft, the Murder Capital and Pixies, these guys are giving their all on the Dark Matter tour.
