Panic! at the Disco 2022 Tour Announcement – Viva Las Vengeance Tour Schedule
Panic! at the Disco is back with a vengeance, literally. The emo icons will embark on the “Viva Las Vengeance” tour in fall 2022, kicking off September 8th in Austin, TX, and continuing through October 25th in San Francisco, CA.
This Panic! at the Disco tour is named for their new single, released in June 2022 but teased for weeks beforehand. The artist, composed of only Brendon Urie, tweeted on May 20th that “it’s time to shut up and go to bed” while telling fans to “set your alarm to 6:01.” As expected, June 1st was when “Viva Las Vengeance” premiered on YouTube, with the title referring to Urie’s hometown of Sin City and the beat putting his soaring vocals on display.
The single is peak Panic! at the Disco. It’s a roaring pop-rock track guaranteed to kill it in the arenas, accompanied by a theatrical music video that reminds you why you fell in love with the group nearly two decades ago. You know, when they were a band of emo idols releasing iconic alt-rock tracks like “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” and “But It’s Better If You Do.”
A lot has happened since Panic! at the Disco’s rise to fame in 2005. All original members, minus Urie, departed the band while he left his emo reputation behind and developed his own electropop sound. His latest solo album, 2018’s Pray for the Wicked, provided catchy singles like “High Hopes,” “Say Amen (Saturday Night),” and “Hey Look Ma, I Made It,” and fans have waited four years to see what he’ll do next. Viva Las Vengeance, the whole album, won’t be released until August 2022… but the new single proves that it will be a pop-rock masterpiece.
Were you an angsty teenager who grew up mimicking Urie’s iconic chorus in “I Write Sins Not Tragedies,” telling friends, “I chime in, haven’t you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door?” Or did you discover him later on as he became a solo sensation? All types of fans are welcome at the Panic! at the Disco tour, with tickets available now!
