Noah Kahan has officially gone from your favorite indie darling to a cultural icon…and “The Great Divide Tour” is the result. His biggest tour yet, this full stadium run kicks off June 11 in Orlando, FL, and wraps August 30 in Seattle, WA, with Gigi Perez joining as support.
If you’ve been watching the Stick Season era slowly turn into a full-blown movement, this announcement isn’t surprising… but it still feels kind of surreal. Noah Kahan shows already have that “everyone knows every word” thing going on — starting with early hits like “False Confidence” and going all the way up to chart toppers like “Dial Drunk.” Now, he’ll have some brand new tunes to debut, and the singalongs will feel like one big group therapy session.
The Great Divide drops April 24, and the title track already feels like one of those songs that’s going to hit extra hard live. “You inched yourself across the great divide/While we drove aimlessly along the Twin State line,” Kahan sings, continuing the location-based wordplay he’s long been famous for. “I heard nothing but the bass in every ballad that you’d play/While you swore to God the singer read your mind.”
The irony in that last line? You will swear that Kahan read your mind, as his songs are centered around the relatable themes of shame, baggage, and spiraling thoughts. But even the darkness of these topics is overshadowed by the beacon of light that is Noah Kahan’s voice, accompanied by his signature strumming that’s made him a mainstay in modern folk rock.
All you need to do is listen to Stick Season, his 2022 album that people still can’t stop talking about. Featuring collaborations with Gracie Abrams, Hozier, Post Malone and Sam Fender, among others, the project reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Americana/Folk albums chart. Since people couldn’t get enough, Kahan even put out an extended version of the record, which still lives rent-free in our playlists even years later.
