Nick Carter 2023 Tour Announcement – Who I Am Tour Schedule
Nick Carter is taking the stage solo once again! The Backstreet Boys heartthrob is heading on the “Who I Am Tour,” beginning on October 4th in Lexington, KY. He’ll make twelve stops before concluding on the 24th in Tempe, AZ.
“The solo music I’ve released over the years has been a powerful outlet for me, an authentic expression of who I really am,” Carter said in a statement. “And I look forward to sharing that with fans throughout this tour while debuting new music and creating new memories together.” Carter has released three solo albums, the last being 2015’s All American, plus one collaborative effort. We’re expecting a blend of old and new pop favorites on the Who Am I tour, with Carter showing his most authentic self yet.
One might think that Carter would need a break after touring the world over the past half-decade with the Backstreet Boys, wrapping up the globa; “DNA Tour” based on their 2019 album of the same name. However, it’s the opposite, as he told Billboard in a recent interview. “When I got back home and was finally able to be with the family, it was so amazing, but I’m a musician, I’m a performer. I love music, and so I decided that I wanted to get back on the road and do what I love,” says the 43-year-old.
He also spoke a bit about what fans can expect from the first solo Nick Carter tour in seven years. “I’m going to go out with a band, and I play guitar,” he says, “I’m going to be playing drums throughout the show. So, it has a bit more creative personal expression and is a little bit more organic, I guess you could say. There’s no walls for me when it comes to music,” Carter says confidently.
“One of the songs I really want to do is Simple Mind’s ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’ from The Breakfast Club and another one I want to do is Bon Jovi’s ‘Wanted Dead or Alive.’,” he concludes. “I’m actually going to do some rap because I grew up listening to rap music. I’m gonna tear up some rap and do my own East Coast versus West Coast!”
Raised on the East Coast, but spending his entire teens and early 20s touring the world, Carter has an appreciation for every part of the country. And he can’t wait to show you who he is (pun intended) on this tour! It’s been a very bittersweet few years for the singer, as he struggled with the tragic death of his brother Aaron and a lawsuit in between his sold-out concerts. But Nick Carter is standing strong and finding comfort in his favorite things… which includes not just music but also his beloved fans.
